Our Commitment to Education

At Bejuco, we believe that every child deserves access to quality education in a supportive and inspiring environment. Since 2019, we have worked alongside schools, educators, and community leaders to provide resources, scholarships, and project management where they are needed most.

Through a focus on art, science, and environmental sustainability, we have impacted over 3,000 students across Puerto Rico.

Our Work with the Creative Learning School (Trujillo Alto, PR)

The Creative Learning School serves 128 students from kindergarten to 7th grade, many of whom rely on scholarships to attend. Despite its dedicated faculty, the school faces severe financial hardships, with teachers often paying for supplies out of pocket while working second jobs. The school also lacks a library, and several bathrooms and appliances are out of service. Bejuco’s ImpactIn 2019, Bejuco partnered with local muralist Javi Cintrón and the nonprofit Crossing Thresholds to create a library and multiple murals, highlighting local talent and connecting students with Puerto Rico’s artistic community.

In 2021, Bejuco launched an Eco-School Program, pairing the school with a local composting service, creating a compost garden, and organizing field trips to Centro Zen de Puerto Rico’s community garden.

José Severo Quiñones Elementary School (Carolina, PR)

For nearly five years, Bejuco has led a monthly art club at José Severo Quiñones Elementary, a bilingual school serving 450–500 students, 40% of whom are diagnosed with autism. This program fosters creativity and inclusivity, ensuring that students with diverse abilities have access to meaningful artistic expression.
